The specialty of aesthetics of IEK Varis participated in a LEONARDO da VINCI, IVT, Mobility project with 11 persons. The participants visited Italy where they followed nail art seminars, Italian language lessons and cultural activities. They also visited, as part of their technical visits, the aesthetic centre Monia and the spa Ludus. During their stay they had the opportunity to exchange views and obtain skills in the field of prosthetic and artistic nails as well as update themselves about new techniques and products in their domain.
In brief, they stayed for 4 days in Rome where they attended nail art courses in the specific Nail Academy ?Fashion Look?, they went on a guided sightseeing tour in the historic part of Rome and then went for 10 days in the picturesque city of Ascoli Piceno where they attended language lessons and nail seminars at Cecco d?Ascoli.
Italy was the ideal country to share their expertise as it presents many similarities with Greece in matters of fashion, culture and civilization, climate conditions, behavioural habits but mainly because as a Mediterranean country people have the same skin complex and hair colours which affect the trends in nail polishes and fashion.
The participants fully profited by their visit in Italy as they enriched their general knowledge observing the civilization, the language, the similarities and differences with their country, obtaining in this way conscience of their national id.
The project took place 14-27/1/2013, when the participants were attending the 3rd semester of their studies which from one side can be decisive in the research of work and on the other side help them follow in full the profession they have chosen in practice, as they were able to understand the terminology required.
